For it's 5th year as Africa's biggest Gay Pride after-party, the Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball has confirmed that international dance phenomenon GOLDFISH will be the headline act for this year's special Gay Pride after-party event at JET in Johannesburg on Saturday 1 October 2011.

Following the chart-topping success which greeted their unique mix of Live Instruments and Dance Music worldwide, GOLDFISH will be LIVE onstage for The 2011 Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball - fresh from a record-breaking 6 month world tour across Ibiza, Spain, Europe and Brazil. Trust the Ball to bring you one of their most spectacular shows to be staged locally!

It might be hard to imagine that one of the hottest live electronic acts in the world right now originates from a small city on the southern-most tip of Africa, but the success story behind Cape Town's international chart-toppers Goldfish, has been nothing short of extraordinary. Dom and Dave, fondly known as 'The Fishies' to their legions of loyal fans, have maintained a touring schedule that has seen them collect passport ink in 22 countries, and perform over 190 shows last year alone. Three dance floors including new undercover outdoor lounges will be blazing for the Fireman's Ball's 5th instalment! GOLDFISH Live will be supported by iconic local DJ stars Roger Goode (5FM), Kevin Grenfell, Groove Element [aka DJ Morné] and Roman on the Fireman's Main Floor.

The event that gets sexy party animals talking will again feature an "Urban & Commercial" line-up - following the great feedback this floor received last year - with Shawny B, the legendary DJ Dizzy along with 5FM's Poppy, C-Live and Grant on JET's Village Floor. Plans are well underway for Africa's biggest gay Pride after-party - the annual Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball - guaranteed to set Joburg alight during the Pride weekend on October 1st.

Now in its fifth year and well on the way to becoming the iconic event on the world's gay calendar, the Gaydar.co.za Fireman's Ball will, due to popular demand, be returning to JET - its original, super-glam home at the Dome with purposely added bars and extended areas, to comfortably accommodate the masses.

The annual GAYDAR.CO.ZA FIREMAN’S BALL POWERED BY 5FM has confirmed that this glamorous and completely extravagant gathering of sexy party animals will descend onto The Warehouse super-club complex (which is also home to the new gay nightspot Discotec) in Ferndale, Johannesburg on Saturday 2 October 2010.

The organisers of this premium Pride celebration have just announced the final line-up of 12 DJs that will add fuel to the 3 floors of dancefloor-fire. 2010 Fireman's Ball Logo unveiled

Ace graphic designer Leroy Shindler now living in London was again tasked with the reinvention of the Fireman's Ball logo.   Over the last 4 years the imagery changed dramatically with fresh twists and turns, keeping up with the times and design trends. 

 

But lets be honest how many ways can present a disco ball and a fireman's badge?  This year's imagery had to be an explosion of fire incorporating inspiration from solar flares and bubbling burning metal.  We think he did a great job! 

 

We had an incredible response from sponsors and this years event will sport the participation from some of the worlds top brands. Watch out for our first press release on 17 August that will unveil the sponsors, the much anticipated details of the Fireman's Ball 2010 and the brand new website.
