For
it's 5th year as Africa's
biggest Gay Pride after-party,
the Gaydar.co.za Fireman's
Ball has confirmed that international
dance phenomenon GOLDFISH
will be the headline act for
this year's special Gay Pride
after-party event at JET in
Johannesburg on Saturday 1
October 2011.
Following
the chart-topping success
which greeted their unique
mix of Live Instruments and
Dance Music worldwide, GOLDFISH
will be LIVE onstage for The
2011 Gaydar.co.za Fireman's
Ball - fresh from a record-breaking
6 month world tour across
Ibiza, Spain, Europe and Brazil.
Trust the Ball to bring you
one of their most spectacular
shows to be staged locally!
It
might be hard to imagine that
one of the hottest live electronic
acts in the world right now
originates from a small city
on the southern-most tip of
Africa, but the success story
behind Cape Town's international
chart-toppers Goldfish, has
been nothing short of extraordinary.
Dom and Dave, fondly known
as 'The Fishies' to their
legions of loyal fans, have
maintained a touring schedule
that has seen them collect
passport ink in 22 countries,
and perform over 190 shows
last year alone. Back at home,
Platinum sales cement their
status as one of South Africa's
biggest acts.
Three
dance floors including new
undercover outdoor lounges
will be blazing for the Fireman's
Ball's 5th instalment! GOLDFISH
Live will be supported by
iconic local DJ stars Roger
Goode (5FM), Kevin Grenfell,
Groove Element [aka DJ Morné]
and Roman on the Fireman's
Main Floor.
The
event that gets sexy party
animals talking will again
feature an "Urban &
Commercial" line-up -
following the great feedback
this floor received last year
- with Shawny B, the legendary
DJ Dizzy along with 5FM's
Poppy, C-Live and Grant on
JET's Village Floor. VIPs
will receive a juicy treat
from Groovy Q, Delon and 5FM's
Catherine in the form of an
exclusive VIP Disco Floor
- featuring a guaranteed "Strictly
Disco, darling" music
policy.
Super-Club
JET at the Coca Cola Dome,
Northgate in Johannesburg
will once again be transformed
for a massive Fireman's Ball
Pride after-party experience
that's difficult to imitate
- special outdoor, alfresco
lounge areas will be created,
featuring full bars with Patrón
Tequila shooter stations and
unique ice 'luges', along
with world-class production
design, sound and light to
make this 5th Anniversary
of The Fireman's Ball another
party excursion to exceed
all expectations.
For
the first time in its 5 year-history,
The Fireman's Ball will also
be doing something special
for the girls. The event has
teamed up with S.k.I.N Ladies
Events, which has become quite
a popular option for quality
women's events and special
parties on the last weekend
of every month. S.k.I.N Girls
at The Fireman's Ball 2011
will receive a special VIP
space right next to the main
floor, with its own dedicated
bar service. "In my experience
Pride after-party events usually
only cater for the gay men
and rarely has there been
(if ever) a dedicated area
and service for the girls
at a Pride After-Party of
this calibre. We are therefore
proud to be associated with
the largest running Pride
After-Party event in South
Africa, Fireman's Ball, and
look forward to offering the
girls a night out that won't
soon be forgotten," says
Natasha Quinn for S.k.I.N
Events.
The
world's most well-known, respected
and admired online gay lifestyle/dating
portal, Gaydar, has deployed
its massive appeal in the
African market to renew Gaydar.co.za's
sponsorship of the Fireman's
Ball 2011. In line with S.k.I.N
Ladies Events partnership,
GaydarGirls.com, will also
be an official media partner
for the event.
They
will be joined by Patrón
Tequila, the world number
one ultra premium tequila,
and other respected local
brands to sponsor the only
Pride after-party "worth
getting out of the closet
for"!
The
Fireman's Ball returns to
its ancestral home by staging
the 5th Anniversary-event
at JET nightclub: an international-standard
super-club with 3 dancefloors,
each equipped with top-end
sound equipment, DJ booths,
bars and lots more. JET is
reinventing the South African
entertainment scene by providing
unique entertainment experiences
that will break all preconceived
ideas of what was possible
up to now. Meticulous attention
to detail is evident throughout,
setting a stunning scene for
the ultimate nightlife experience.
A one-of-a-kind lighting grid,
state-of-the-art cryogenic
effects systems and the absolute
best sound design technology
available puts JET in a league
of its own.
